Who are the authors of Mind Riding?

Alec Gore
Alec holds a Diploma in Advanced Motorcycle Instruction, the highest level of achievement in advanced riding, graded pass, merit or distinction;
he achieved a distinction in both riding skills and instructional skills.

Alec had a 22-year career in police work in the UK and Hong Kong. He was previously an inspector in charge of a traffic motorcycle unit, training more than 120 traffic police motorcycle riders from 2000-04.

He is particularly interested in the psychology of motorcycle riding - the thinking motorcyclist. It was therefore natural that, having read Mind Driving, Alec realised immediately that there was a need for a motorcycle edition, which was to become the basis for this course.

Stephen Haley, author of Mind Driving
Stephen loves driving, and is passionate about enjoying it safely. He describes his driving style as "purposeful", because every action is deliberate and with specific reason. But he has an unlikely background for writing a driving book like Mind Driving, a 30-year career in a multinational company, IBM. During that time, his work spanned the diverse fields of finance, marketing and skill development, although he has a degree in engineering.

The single thread that connected this career, though, was the reputation for taking a wide and lateral view and resolving deep seated problems by seeing them differently. Here the difference is in trying to explain the art of "experienced driving" and to discover what really defines the true skill of safe driving.

All bikers are recommended to read the full Mind Driving book - especially if you drive a car too!
